Anyone who has spent a day hopping from airport to airport and plane to plane understands how daunting that day of travel can be. It is necessary to make that day as easy and as comfortable as possible. Travelers can do that with the proper clothing and equipping their carry-ons with the proper things.
Here are some great tips for easing the travel process, both in the airport and on the plane.
The Proper Attire
If you have ever sat on a plane for any amount of time, you know that you can be hot one minute and cold a little while later. Dressing in layers is the way to prepare for this. This gives you the ability to adapt to whatever the temperature may be. Leggings and a great shawl or scarf are two of my go two items when getting dressed for a day of airports and plane rides.
Entertainment That Doesn’t Require A Charger
If the only thing that you bring with you to occupy your time requires a charger, it can really suck when it dies, and you can’t charge it. You should bring a few options of things to do like a challenging crossword puzzle or your favorite book.
Sanitizing Wipes
Nothing is worse than coming home from vacation sick with the flu or a stomach bug. When you get that many people in one place, there are going to be germs that are going to be spread around. Sanitizing wipes are a great idea to bring with you for on the plane, in the bathrooms, and for the chairs at the gate.
Gum
There are two reasons why gum is good to have on a long flight. The first reason is that chewing gum can help with the popping ear issue that a lot of people experience during a flight. The other reason is that no one wants to brush their teeth in an airplane bathroom (you may have forgotten to put your toothpaste and toothbrush in your carry-on). Gross!
Food And Water
I have two words that will justify you making sure that you bring some food and water in your carry-on; airplane food. Enough said.
A Few Things To Help You Catch Some Z’s
One of the best ways to pass the time on a long flight is by taking a good long nap. This is much easier said than done though. There are a few things that you should throw in your carry-on bag that can make it a little easier to sleep.
Sleep Aids- whether over the counter ones like melatonin or prescription from your doctor
An inflatable pillow or one of those C-shaped neck pillows
An eye mask
Ear Plugs or Noise Cancelling Headphones
Vacations are great, the traveling part can be a real pain in the you know what. If you take the time to set yourself and your carry-on bag up the right way, you can make this process as easy as possible. It won’t take any extra time to do this if you incorporate these things onto your packing list while you are getting ready or to your shopping list before you leave. Happy travels!
